Position Scope

Dene North is looking for Steam Truck Operators to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

 

Schedule: 14x14- 11.5 hours

 

Transportation: Provided to and from Fort McMurray to site

 

Camp accommodations are NOT provided.

 

Responsibilities

Cleaning of heavy duty equipment

Help out in all tasks including general yard clean up, assisting mechanics and steamers and other day to day tasks as directed by the maintenance supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Class 3 license with air brakes.
  • Must be able to operate a standard vehicle.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a mobile steam unit.
  • Successful candidate must have previous experience steaming heavy equipment.
  • Must be a self-starter, experience operating forklift, bobcat and loader would be an asset.

Summary

All successful candidates must:

 

  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 3 Driver’s License
  • Have experience as requested in the job description above
  • Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening

All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:

 

  • CSO or BSO Certification
  • CSTS Certification and OSSA Regional only required if candidate does not have the above certification
  • Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  • VOID cheque/direct deposit form
