You will use your expertise to:

 

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Implement preventative and predictive programs/assignments for mechanical systems
  • Participate in post event analysis and root cause discussions and take part in developing solutions
  • Commit to adhering to guidelines and maintaining technical and preventative records
  • Review and apply a continuous improvement mindset to safe work practices, procedures, and standards
  • Maintain equipment histories as required
  • Plan jobs, including assessment and selection of material
  • Work in a flexible team environment and communicate clearly with others
  • Assist other Maintenance and/or Production Technicians as required

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

 

  • Five years of experience working as a Millwright in a heavy industrial environment
  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson Certificate Millwright or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate Millwright
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Zero-tolerance for shortcuts, and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
  • Alignment with our values

 

Preference for:

 

A deep understanding and demonstration of safe work practices

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills

A Background in Manual machining

Knowledge of SAP

Solid knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations

A self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies

Strong communication skills that allow you to collaborate effectively with diverse groups in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

 

You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

This position is safety sensitive

You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
