Fluor Canada is seeking a talented professional Intermediate Pipeline Engineer to join the Calgary team. Fluor Canada is currently executing projects for major Clients in the Oil Sands, Petrochemicals, Pipeline, Refining, and SAGD Industries.

The successful candidate can expect to have unlimited growth and career opportunities including being responsible for the technical integrity and oversight of pipeline engineering, supporting the Lead on assigned projects, providing guidance to more junior engineers, and in time the chance to be part of the strategic direction of the department. Your experience should include FEED, Detailed Engineering and EPC in a technical delivery role.


Job Description

• Provide support and consultation in the design, installation, procurement, registration and testing of pipelines and associated facilities.

• Perform and check pipeline calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual design techniques.

• Establish project design specifications and act as the lead in procuring related piping and equipment.

• Assist as requested, in the development of department standards and procedures.

• Actively participate in external technical seminars and self-enroll in advanced management training courses.

• Develop and build client relations.

• Work with Client and project team to translate the requirements for pipelines in the project scope.

• Highly motivated to provide innovative and cost effective solutions to Clients.


To be Considered Candidates:Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located and be able to interview on site., Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Basic Job Requirements


• 10 years of related experience.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Materials).

• Registered Professional Engineer with APEGA preferred.

• Experience with Alberta Pipeline Act and Regulation.

• Experience with CSA Z662.

• Experience with EUB and NEB requirements.

• Experience with Pipeline and Pipeline Facility Design Concepts.

• Experience with Pipeline Civil Design, including road, river and highway crossings.

• Familiarity with Pipeline Construction Methods including trenchless installation methods.

• Functional understanding of pipeline design software such as Autopipe, ABAQUS, Transient Analysis programs, etc.


Preferred Qualifications


• Experience with HDPE and other composite pipeline design is an asset

• Offshore pipeline experience is an asset

• Working GIS knowledge and experience is an asset including ArcGIS suite of applications
