What YOU Will Do


  • Under the supervision of the superintendent, the foreman must mainly see to managing the construction site activities he is in charge of.
  • Determine, along with the superintendent, the needs in materials and supplies and issue orders with the procurement and logistics department;
  • Coordinate work of subcontractors, the various specialties, and other trades according to the superintendent’s instructions;
  • Supervise, coordinate, and organize the work of construction site employees.
  • Train workers and see to their training—construction site procedures, safety rules, emergency measures, etc.;
  • Fill out time sheets and list of items and submit them to the payroll department;
  • Establish, along with the superintendent, manpower requirements;
  • Plan work in one’s area and hand over a report stating progress and lateness to the superintendent—construction site log book;
  • Establish work methods, in collaboration with the superintendent, which enable respecting delivery calendars and coordinate activities with other departments;
  • Receive delivered materials on the construction site according to established procedure—checking, document management, and storing—and forward the delivery slip to the superintendent;
  • Evaluate logistical needs weekly, prepare requisitions, and inform the logistics department of any need according to procedures;
  • Solve work-related issues and recommend measures aiming at increasing productivity;
  • Supervise team leaders under one’s responsibility;
  • Ensure compliance with labor safety standards and monitor it;
  • Verify construction site inventory—equipment, tooling, and materials—and send the information to the logistics department;
  • Evaluate the people one is in charge of on a weekly basis.



What YOU Will Bring


  • A construction related certificate, diploma or degree;
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in civil construction;
  • Readiness for team work and planning skills;
  • Proficiency in reading plans and specs;
  • High level of availability and recognized leadership;
  • Mobility for various assignments throughout greater Vancouver
