As a member of our Buildings group, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various commercial projects, such as: education facilities; hospitals and healthcare centres; office buildings; warehouse and distribution centres; retail outlets and complexes; recreational facilities; hotels and casinos; parkades; and mixed- use facilities. You will also further hone your skills operating under various delivery methods including Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3 (Public-Private Partnership), Construction Management and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).


About The Role

The Electrical Coordinator reports directly to the M&E Manager and will be responsible for providing assistance to senior staff in the coordinator, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting and quality control functions.  Some of your key responsibilities will be: 


  • Assist with planning and implementation of temporary power systems
  • Assist in preparation and negotiation of electrical and technology subcontracts
  • Develop and monitor submittal, and coordination of drawing schedules with subtrades
  • Issue Electrical RFIs or delegate to project coordinator
  • Resolve site issues, design issues and disputes in a timely manner
  • Assist in preparation and administration of Electrical portions of project schedule
  • Issue direction to subtrades as necessary, chair weekly Electrical subtrade meetings
  • Conduct inspections and issue deficiencies to subtrades
  • Issue documentation to design team, owner and subtrades as necessary
  • Manage commissioning process or act as liaison with 3rd party commissioning agent
  • Assist with building turnover, training and closeout documentation

 To be successful in the role, you will have the following experience:                         


  • A degree and/or related experience in electrical or technology is required
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the construction industry working on major commercial projects, with at least 1 year in a related role
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and how they integrate with mechanical and building construction
  • Experience with procurement of major equipment including Switchgear, MCCs, transformers and other primary distribution equipment
  • Experience with BAS and other control systems including fire alarm, data infrastructure systems is an asset
  • Experience working on multi-disciplined site
  • Large commercial construction project experience is an asset
  • Prior experience working with clients, vendors, and subtrades
